objectives

To develop capacity of the national trade unions
on advocacy and policy related matters regarding safety-net issues
with special focus on national minimum wage for all workers and maternity
benefit rights for all women workers. |

To develop implementation status of the wage and
maternity rights condition at work places of selected sectors by trade
union intervention. |
| iii) |
To develop a healthy discussion in labour market
and society with creation of a strong national campaign and advocacy
network on social safety-net issue with special priority to national
minimum wage for all workers and maternity benefit rights for all
working women. |
Activities

The activities of the project are policy discussion, action research,
capacity building training, social dialogue, advocacy and lobbing &
networking.

on social safety net issue at national level for social dialogue and
workplace level negotiation. |

78 sectoral trade union leaders with information
and skills for dialogue on identified safety-net issue at sector/workplace

26 women trade union leaders at NTUC equipped with
information and advocacy skills on policy formulation and protection
of maternity benefits rights. |

600 trade union representatives in identified sectors
equipped with time befitting knowledge on safety-net issues with action
plans towards improvement of safety-net status in respective workplace
and sector. |

78 trained-up media persons on wage and maternity
protection issue and pro-active role of electronic and news media
for promotion of social safety-net schemes in Bangladesh and implementation
of relevant laws at workplaces. |

1 nos. of awareness raising campaign video on social
safety-net. |

4,000 copies of Workers booklet on Social Safety-net,
10,000 copies of educative poster on national minimum wage and 5,000
copies of Educational poster on Maternity protection for all women
workers. |

30,000 copies of campaign leaflet (10,000x 3 sectors)
on sensitization of trade union leaders/activists and workers/employees
in thee selected sector. |

Establishment of a functional Trade Union and Civil
Society Network to influence and contribute in national level policy
formulation mechanisms on Social Safety net maters. |

Improvement of implementation status of law/rules
on wage and maternity benefit rights applicable in selected sectors. |
