The project conducted 4 daylong local workshops with workers, safety group members, and trade union leaders in the four selected sectors. The workshop was held on July 30, 2006 for Match Factories, Aug 27, 2006 for Construction, Aug 11, 2006 for Rice Mills and Sep 09, 2006 for Electricity sector The workshop was held with the following objectives:

- Project orientation;
- Evaluation of the study circle meetings of all four sectors;
- Future action plan for implementing second phase discussion circle meetings;
- Preparing outline of the training manual for safety group members training

One of the workshops for preparing a manual with the participants of the safety groups was held in the rice mill sector. The workshop aimed at developing a manual for training, was held on Aug 11, 2006 at TUC office in the district town Mymensingh. 10 trade union leaders and activists participated in the workshop. Shamsunnahar Bhuiyan, Coordinator of Rice Mill sector conducted the workshop.
 

 
A workshop was held for manual preparation on Feb 14, 2006 at BILS seminar hall. A total of 11 participants (male 8 and female 3) were present in the workshop. The participants were from each sector of safety group members.

A 2-days central OHS workshop was held on Sep 6-7, 2006 at Dhaka. 32 Participants (Safety group members and BILS Trainers) participated in the workshop. The workshop was on the labor Law 2006 in the focus of ‘Occupational Health and Safety of workers and trade unions responsibility’.
